Church of the Customer

First Post: Seth Goodin brought up the Purple Cow principle. You need to stand out above your competition.  I like this principle because my mission president brought up this principle. He would ask us, what are the things that make us purple cows? He then emphasized that it isn't a bad thing, in fact it's a good thing, to emphasize the purple cows about your religion. Same goes for business. Having a purple cow in your business isn't a bad thing, actually it can be used for your benefit.

Second Post: Interesting, we learn that Lady Gaga focuses on only 1% of her audience. Why does she do that? Why that little, and why not 20%? She only chooses this percent of the audience because this is the part that she connects with the best. She wants to show her audience that it's ok to be yourself. With this purpose in mind, she has found tons of success. This is a principle that I really can focus on. I need to pick a group of people, it could be a small group, and I need to focus on them.

Third Post: I noticed that the Church of the Customer blog doesn't post every single week, but it seems like it is every other week. This weeks post was interesting because here we read about an entrepreneur, Mark Bourbon, who messed up with his product. There were customers who posted all over social media sites that they won't buy their products anymore. He then, a little while later, sent a humbled response apologizing. I learned something interesting with this instance, it's very easy to loose a customer and make someone unhappy, and just like this customer, he posted it on social media for the world to see. All it takes is one dissatisfied customer to ruin the reputation of a large business.  http://www.churchofcustomer.com/2013/02/index.html
